As a survivor of the Iraq war, I’ve embraced the philosophy, “when life knocks you down, level up.” This mindset has driven my pursuit of excellence and innovation.

I have a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Washington, and I firmly believe that “Everything is Designed.” My focus on accessibility led me to co-invent Dytective, an AI-based game for detecting dyslexia, and to enhance Bing for dyslexic users at Microsoft Research. I am a National Science Foundation Fellow with over 20 peer-reviewed articles.

I call myself a Creative Scientist because I have worked as a research scientist, designer, product manager, and founder. I've had the pleasure of working at Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, AWS and startups.

Currently, I’m the co-founder and CEO of 3rd Brain, an app that uses AI to help couples leverage their collective knowledge to manage their lives better together.

Meanwhile, with my consulting work at STUDIO89, I'm on a mission to empower anyone to create experiences that work for everyone.
